Dave McCary

Dave McCary, CFP®, CPWA®, CRI®, MBA, serves doctors, business owners, commercial real estate owners, and ultra-high net worth family members nationwide who want to create family wealth across generations in a tax efficient manner. He is their outsourced CFO and CIO to their CEO.

Dave also acts as Investment Advisor to his clients' business retirement plans, sharing their Plan Sponsor ERISA liability for safe investing for them and their employees. His quality retirement plan advising results in a strong employee benefit package that helps clients attract top talent into their businesses.

As a former Private Banker for a large NYC commercial bank (now part of JP Morgan), investment officer for a Aetna Life Insurance in Hartford, entrepreneur in commercial real estate serving clients including JP Morgan, Citibank's Alternative Asset Group, Greenwich Capital, and Allied Capital, and co-Founder and lead Advisor to his family's Virtual Family Office since 2001, Dave has the experience and hard-earned wisdom needed to be an effective fee-only fiduciary Advisor to his clients.

In his community, Dave is a respected Trustee helping oversee over $140 million for the following groups: 1) University of Hartford Art School; 2) Connecticut Museum of History; 3) Colt Family Bequest; 4) Episcopal Bishops of Connecticut Endowment; and 5) St. John’s Episcopal Church where he is Co-Treasurer and Investment Committee member.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys family time while also pursuing skiing (PSIA Certified ski instructor), photography (www.dwmccary.com), biking, golf, and flying small planes.

Dave lives in West Hartford with his wife, and together they have three adult children and four grandchildren.
